Considering leaving your life behind for a while and going on an around the world trip? Kudos! Welcome to the first step towards the best time of your life. Learn exactly how to plan an around the world trip in 15 easy-to-follow, actionable steps.

What most people don’t realize is that planning for an around the world trip takes more than just what bag to buy, what to pack, and where to go. As soon as you start getting into everything else: the insurance, the visas, getting currency, making sure your vaccines are all up to date, it can get extremely overwhelming.

Don’t worry, I was exactly where you are. Before leaving for my own one year around the world journey in May 2018 I had absolutely no clue of everything that planning an around the world trip would entail.

How to Plan An Around the World Trip – The Wrong Way

Most of my family has never been across the ocean, and the majority of my friends from home don’t really like to travel. Besides those classic one week holidays to Mexico, which to me doesn’t really count as “travelling”. So when I got stuck, and frustrated with planning my around the world trip I had no one to ask besides my good friend Google.

Even Google turned out to be a disappointment. All I could find were blogs that promised to show me “How to Plan an Around the World Trip”, but then ended up simply talking about only one or two things I needed to know. Either showing how to choose where to go and picking the right season. Or talking about what size backpack is the best and why. Or simply telling exactly where they went on their around the world trip.

I quickly realized I could find nothing that was going to act as a complete guide for planning an around the world trip. This was frustrating. Constantly bouncing from blog to blog, little by little figuring out everything I needed to know.

That is why, now that I am on the other side, the one who has successfully completed a year around the world, on budget, and with no serious fall-backs, I can confidently say I know exactly how to plan for such a trip and want to share it with all of you!

Planning an Around the World Trip – The Right Way

What future backpackers need to properly plan an around the world trip is a complete guide book. Something that will help you plan, from start to finish, an extended backpacking trip. A book that can act as a bible for anyone that needs to know how to plan for a big backpacking trip, whether it’s 6 months, 12, or even 24.

That is why I have come up with “NOOB: The Ultimate Guide to Prepare for a One Year Backpacking Trip“.

In 15 actionable steps, you will learn every single detail to get yourself physically and emotionally prepared. Emotional preparation was something I had never thought of before leaving, but after being gone in unfamiliar countries with nothing but unfamiliar people, it wears you down.

Thus, being broken up into two parts, NOOB will first guide you through everything you need to get physically prepared. From how much money you need, the best ways to save money along the way, a complete packing list, what type of backpack to get, the best time to buy your flight ticket, getting your visa’s sorted, insurance, medications and vaccinations, and the best way to get local currency and not lose money on crazy high ATM fees and bank charges.

Afterwards, learn exactly what you need to do to better emotionally prepare yourself for this epic journey ahead.
